Kellogg’s Gives Back This Thanksgiving Holiday!

This Thanksgiving Kellogg’s decided to give back to those in need with help from The American Red Cross in the Greater New York area. The American Red Cross humanitarian mission is to help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. For thanksgiving The American Red Cross in the Greater New York area is helping to feed those families who have been recently made homeless before thanksgiving holiday by setting up a thanksgiving dinner for them.

Hearing about this event representatives for Kellogg’s thought it would be a great idea to join in on this cause by donating bottles of their new Fruit Smoothies “To Go” product to this dinner. Kellogg’s new Fruit Smoothies “To Go” are due to be distributed nationwide next week but with help from the Greater New York Red Cross those in need will be the first to taste the new product. Tasty and nutritious the American Red Cross thought Kellogg’s Fruit Smoothies “To Go” was the perfect desert beverage for those families left homeless this Thanksgiving holiday. Available in an assortment of thirteen flavors to chose from and even available with soy for those who are lactose intolerant or are allergic to milk the product received rave reviews from the families as well as the volunteers and staff members of the Greater New York Red Cross that also got a chance to taste Kellogg’s new product.

Going along with their theme of giving back to the community, this holiday weekend Kellogg’s discovered a clever way to promote their new Fruit Smoothies “To Go” to the public. For the popular shopping holiday Black Friday, Kellogg’s decided to hand out their new Fruit Smoothies “To Go” bottles to hungry shoppers in need of a healthy dose of natural energy as they made their holiday purchases. The drinks were handed out by Kellogg’s employees at booths set up in malls throughout the tri-state area from 4am till 2pm. Each customer received a bottle of the Fruit Smoothies “To Go” product in any flavor they desired along with a powder packet of Kellogg’s new revolutionary “to go” mix to take home. This promotional event was a great success for Kellogg’s since most food establishments within the malls were not open early for these early-bird holiday shoppers.

“Soy, Soy, Soy”… Kellogg’s Expands new product by adding Soymilk!!

Kellogg’s has recently decided to add soymilk to their new Fruit Smoothies “To-Go” product line. Soymilk is a stable emulsion of oil, water, and protein that is produced by soaking dry soybeans and grinding them with water. Soymilk contains about the same proportion of protein as regular whole milk, which is around 3.5% protein. While natural plain soymilk is unsweetened, the type of soymilk these fruit smoothies will contain is sweetened to make the drink more flavorful.

Soymilk is promoted as a healthy alternative to regular milk for many reasons. It is a great source of lecithin and vitamin E, it lacks casein, it contains a lot less saturated fat than regular whole milk and it contains isoflavones, which are organic chemicals that are beneficial to your health. Most importantly soymilk is a safe milk substitute for those people who are lactose intolerant or are allergic to milk. For this reason Kellogg’s has decided to create a new line of their Fruit Smoothies “To-Go” product but this time with the added special ingredient soymilk.

The liquid form of the fruit smoothies “To-Go” product will use soymilk as a dairy substitute. While the powder form of the fruit smoothies will use a powder form of soymilk that will be added to the mix requiring you to only add water and ice before you blend. This new version of their product will be advertised for not only people who are lactose intolerant or with a milk allergy but also for those whom are health conscious and prefer soymilk to regular whole milk or 2% milk. The revamping of this product will allow those who do not or cannot drink regular milk to enjoy Kellogg’s tasty and delicious fruit smoothies “to-go” as well.

Kellogg’s Announces Launching of their Tasty New Fruit Smoothies “To-Go”

Yoplait's Frozen Pre-made Smoothies

Kellogg’s has decided to jump on the bandwagon with other competitors such a General Mills by creating their very own fruit smoothies. Kellogg’s major competitor General Mills have a popular brand of yogurt Yoplait that currently has a similar product, Yoplait’s “frozen smoothies” that come in two servings a package and a variety of only four flavors. To compete with General Mills, Kellogg’s has decided to create their very own brand of innovative fruit smoothies. These fruit smoothies would be available in both liquid and powder form. The flavor list for the fruit smoothies will consist of a variety of thirteen exciting new flavors to choose from. Berry Bonanza, Tropical Escape, Strawberry Oasis, Banana Rama, Pomegranate Paradise, Tangerine Take Over, Peach Perfection, Mango Mania, Acai Hawaii, Blueberry Bliss and three classic flavors vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry-banana.

Example of Individually Bottled Smoothies "To-Go"

The fruit smoothies in powder form will come in individual packets consisting of freeze dried fruit pieces, freeze dried sherbet and sorbet as well as powder form non-fat vanilla yogurt and several other essential ingredients. To make simply add milk, ice “if desired” and blend. Individual packets make 2-8 oz smoothies. The liquid form fruit smoothies will come ready to drink and simply need to be refrigerated. Each smoothie is loaded with all-natural fruits and yogurt and includes a healthy antioxidant boost as well as one full serving and 100% daily value of Vitamins A, C, D and E.

Most pre-made smoothies that contain only fruit juice do not contain any significant amounts of fiber. Kellogg’s new fruit smoothies are different because they contain whole crushed fruit as well as juice. By using whole crushed fruit you get more of the nutrients from the fruit, such as the vitamins and fiber. Your recommended daily intake of fiber is 24g. Since Kellogg’s Fruit Smoothies are made from whole crushed fruit, they contain between 2.3 – 6g of fiber per 250 ml serving. These smoothies give you on average 17% of the guideline amount (GDA) for fiber, which is just under a quarter of your daily amount. These smoothies are also a great source of Antioxidants, Calcium and Vitamins A, C, D and E.

Kellogg’s fruit smoothies will be distributed first in the USA. They will be available in boxes containing six packets and bottles will be sold individually as well as in six-packs and twelve packs. The tag-line for this campaign will be “Kellogg’s makes smoothies tasty and nutritious for the family on the go.” Since each smoothie contains one full serving of fruit in a variety of great tasting flavors for everyone’s taste buds.
